GW7 Review

Team of The Week

As we all know ToTW is generally the team which scores the highest each GW but occasionally we like to recognise a team who goes above and beyond and quite simply deserves praise. This week Ed of Clarke FC is that team. After an….unconventional….draft he was faced with the daunting prospect of having a squad mostly made up of the leftovers but each and every week the team stood strong, scored very respectable scores regularly beating other teams scores but unfortunately constantly coming up against a team who having a bit of a week which led to 6 straight losses. No such bad luck this weekend as they have claimed their first 3pts of the season with a 32-36 win over Wally. Madueke scored a 10 and Hermenson 6 and whilst these were the only two to score big it was enough to edge over the line. Great times in the Clarke household I’m sure. Tres Bien.

Match of The Week

Whilst we all got together this past weekend to fly high with the eagles, eat like we’re 16, sleep like we don’t all have chronic back problems and celebrate two of life’s beautiful humans turning 40 those two humans were in fact putting on a barnstormer of an FFY match. Mary carried on his excellent form with a 55-60 win over Chrish in a match that contained 13 lads who scored more than your average. 4 chaps got into double figures with 2 a piece from each team (Alisson 10 & Saka 16 for Chrish and Justin 10 & Maddison 10 for Mary) and not for the first time this season both teams posted scores which would win nearly every other match but alas that’s not how this shit works. Great show put on by these boys (I say both but it’s a great weekend for Mary, Chrish organised everything and Mary swooped in and stole the 3pts).

Player of The Week

Young Bukayo Saka is this weeks top boy. 16pts scored from 2 assists and a goal in a match you could argue he single handedly won for Arsenal. Chrishy was the beneficiary but alas as previously mentioned it couldn’t take him over the line but I know he can see the wood for the trees and will have appreciated what Saka put out there.

Chump of The Week

Well it had to happen eventually, someone had to lose to the best of the rest and in some form of irony it was the only other man who has been in this position before. Warren has had a decent start to the season which sees in either in or around the top 4 but alas this weekend not even Danny Welbeck can save him. Welbeck’s dad Bomb Disposal Stan once said “if you can’t beat a bunch of unwanted players when my son scores then you a pink motherfucker.” I’ll be honest I have no idea what that means but it was a vehicle for my favourite Welbeck joke and a Next Friday reference.

Dawkins of The Week

It’s still Kerkez. He’s been here before and I had no idea who he played for until I stumbled across him whilst scoring and once again I have no idea who he plays for. Every time I read his name I just think of ‘our Kez’ and bo selecta so I’m not mad at him, just bored of him.
